Not his best show
I was really looking forward to this show after having seen a couple of Of Monsters and Men's shows. His previous shows had all been 5 stars, so I brought my wife along to this one. The beginning of the show was a long prelude with heavy bass, which was hard on the ears. The band started loud, and the poorly adjusted sound system made it difficult to understand the lyrics for the first three or four songs. As some band members exited the stage, the sound quality improved. The less accompaniment there was, the better the show became. Towards the end, the full band returned and the volume increased, forcing us to leave early to protect our hearing. Gary is a great performer with good songs, but this was not one of his best shows. Many performers believe that louder is better. If you are proud of your lyrics, ensure they are heard.
